Mecklenburg Medical Group has added a work of art to Overstreet Mall that is drawing lots of attention. The 7-by-10 foot water sculpture was commissioned by the medical group as a way to advertise its medical office in the BB&T Center, says Chuck Evans, vice president and administrator of Mecklenburg Medical and the Carolina Physicians Group. The sculpture is black with a rippled surface. A stream of water circulates over the front of the sculpture. Los Angeles artist Charles Jerome Broquard created the work. How much did it cost? "Let's don't talk about that," he says. Sources estimate the price tag at $40,000.
